You’ll enjoy the great Alaskan summer. From mid-May through August we have approximately 19 hours of sunlight every day. The sun rises around 3:30 am and sets around 11:00 p.m.
The climate in Alaska can very greatly during the summer from rainy and 40 degrees
to 85+ degrees and sunny, it is best to be prepared for either. Here are some of our recommendations:
o Several sweaters and or sweat shirts or fleece for dressing in layers.
o Heavy and light jacket.
o Sun glasses and sun screen.
o Rain gear if you have a favorite set.
o A hat and gloves.
o Camera and lots of film.
Surprisingly you won’t experience the famous bird size mosquitoes on peninsula rivers or while relaxing at our camp. During visits into remote and mountainous areas you may encounter more mosquitoes.
A. You buy a cooler locally (approx $20)and
you bring it back on the plane with you. Be advised that most
airlines have a weight limit of #50 per check-in baggage.
B. You can package the fish in a insulated box and have a local
processor ship it for you. Cost depends on the location in which you
are shipping the box and total weight.
Our camp is equipped with full kitchens facilities which including utensils, pots, pans etc... During your stay with Alaska Camping and Fishing Adventures, breakfast and dinner is included in the package price. You are responsible for providing your own daily lunches. We have two refrigerators and ample coolers on site. There are two large grocery stores within a 20 minute drive from camp. There are also several restaurants in nearby towns if you choose to eat out.
You are also more than welcome to use the kitchen for your own use
as well.
